Akhil Sharma is the Director of Technology at Marya Leadership Academy, where he leads the design, development, and optimization of digital systems that power the academy’s educational and business platforms. From reimagining the academy’s web infrastructure to implementing scalable e-commerce systems, Akhil plays a critical role in aligning technology with the organization’s mission to develop impactful leaders.

With a background in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis, Akhil brings deep expertise in software development, user-centered design, and embedded systems. His technical portfolio includes the development of Dora the Explora, an autonomous vehicle using LIDAR and PID control systems, and SwivelFind, a sensor-based integrated system. At UC Davis, his ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world systems earned him top marks and recognition.

Akhil has also contributed to high-impact roles at LineDance AI, where he engineered a robust database system to reduce latency and data redundancy for a complex AI Application. Earlier in his career, he gained early exposure to cutting-edge tools through multiple internships with IBM Middle East, where he collaborated on projects involving natural language processing, server infrastructure, and cloud-based analytics. 

Beyond his technical work, Akhil is deeply committed to service and leadership. He participated in the Duke of Edinburgh program in Tanzania, helping build a school and women’s empowerment center, and completed over 100 hours of community service. He has also coached youth robotics teams for international competitions and continues to support innovation-driven learning.

Currently enrolled in the McKinsey Forward Program, Akhil is passionate about bridging engineering and strategic thinking. His work is guided by a drive to build technologies that are not only functional but also transformative for organizations and the people they serve.
